Visiting Lee Wing in the hospital, Iron Fist feels that he has failed his friend in rescuing Colleen. This causes him to reflect back on a previous failure while he was still living in K'un-Lun: Back then he was attacked by Merrin, a fellow citizen of K'un-Lun who was jealous of Iron Fist for beating Shou-Lao, and wanted the Iron Fist power for himself. Attacked by Merrin and his men, Danny is out numbered until he is helped by a mysterious masked fighter. This fighter is soon unmasked and revealed to be Miranda. Everyone is shocked that a woman has trained in the martial arts as it is against the law for women to do so in K'un-Lun. She and Danny are both helped with the intervention of Conal D'Hu-Tsien who also helps defeat the last of Merrin's thugs. Conal explains to Danny that he has been secretly training Miranda. When Merrin tries to kill Miranda, Danny grabs his thrown dagger mid-air and throws it back at him. The trio are soon stopped by the guards, who arrest Conal and Miranda. In the present, Colleen Wing is brought to Jera'ad Al-D'in in Halwan, where she is brought to her kidnappers master: Master Khan. Khan is not impressed when his follower Hassan has brought Colleen Wing to him, but she has not been broken and conditioned to serve him, as punishment Khan has Hassan killed before Colleen's eyes. Returning to Iron Fist's recollection: The night that Conal and Merrin were sequestered to their quarters to wait for punishment, Danny finds Conal sneaking out of the kingdom. When Danny tries to question him as to why, he is attacked by Miranda. In the present, at the hospital where Lee Wing is being treated, Misty and Rafael discuss the situation when they receive a lead from one of Rafael's subordinates: An insider wants to meet in London to blow the lid off the whole operation. Rafael finds it all too suspicious, but Misty wishes to check it out, because she wants to save her partner. Danny continues to reflect on the past: He awakens in a lush forest after following after Conal and Miranda and discover that they have been captured by the H'ylthri, plant creatures that were the dominant life forms in the realm before the people of K'un-Lun had come. Since the people of K'un-Lun attacked the H'ylthri and decimated their land to build their kingdom the H'ylthri became enemies of the people of K'un-Lun. Now after thousands of years of aggression, the forests that are the H'ylthri's home have allowed three humans to enter their land. Their leader Sssesthgar explains this all to Danny, and offers him his reward, a pod which will make him one with the H'ylthri, the last of three the other two occupied by Conal and Miranda. Danny refuses to join and attacked Sssesthgar, but is stung with a plant that causes him to lose consciousness, before he does he hears Miranda call out to him for help, and call him her brother. Danny would later awaken outside the castle walls and return to the kingdom. Finishing his recollection, Misty enters the room to check on Lee's condition, and tells Danny what she learned from Rafael about the informant in London.
