Psylocke is under the control of the Mandarin and is using her psychic powers to manipulate Logan's mind into making him an assassin for the Hand. Jubilee has also been captured and protests what Psylocke and the Hand are doing to Logan. Jubilee uses her powers to attempt an escape and as she is pursued by the Hand, the Mandarin stops her. He takes an interest in her because of her Chinese heritage. Mandarin threatens Matsuo Tsurayaba, the leader of the Hand, for not controlling his ninjas, who attacked Mandarin as they pursued Jubilee. The scene changes to Muir Isle, where Banshee is testing the islands stront defenses. Sean dislikes the X-Men's new uniforms and suspects something is amiss. Lorna, meanwhile, has been captured by Legion. The scene returns to Hong Kong, where as Jubilee is being presented to Mandarin in traditional Chinese garb, Logan breaks out of his sensory deprivation chamber and jars Psylocke free of the Mandarin's control. They fight through the Hand and trick Mandarin into thinking Logan is dead. Jubilee's intense reaction destroys a section of Mandarin's house and Logan and Psylocke are able to defeat Mandarin and make good their escape with Jubilee. Jubilee expresses her distrust of Psylocke, who herself is worried that she may again fall under the influence of the Hand. Logan accepts the risk and acknowledges that her probings of his mind may have unlocked ghosts and demons from his past, leaving uncertainty in his future as well. The three of them sail off into the sunset.
